Central Library of IIT Kharagpur is organizing a workshop
on "SCHOLARLY PUBLISHING" in association with Wiley India Pvt. Ltd. The workshop theme is "Maximizing Your Success in Publishing in Academic Journals".
This workshop will help participants gain an insight on the types of academic publications available, the processes involved in getting material published and understand the expectations editors have of authors and their work. Participants will leave this seminar with an in-depth knowledge of how to pitch and position their papers and identify niche publications best suited to meet their needs.

Invited Speaker
Dr. Lorna Stimson is the Editor-in-Chief of Advanced Healthcare Materials and Deputy Editor of Advanced
Materials. She has a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of Durham in the UK, where
her work focused on crystallography and liquid crystalline materials. In 2007, Lorna joined the materials science
editorial office at Wiley-VCH in Germany. Over the last few years, Lorna has been involved in the peer-review
process for Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, and Advanced
Healthcare Materials. In 2011, she was responsible for the launch of Advanced Healthcare Materials, which
soon developed into a forum for the publication of the very best, high-impact, research in the field of materials
science that is aimed at promoting human health. In 2014, Advanced Healthcare Materials received an
inaugural impact factor of 4.88. In 2012, Lorna was appointed as a Deputy Editor of Advanced Materials, Wiley's
flagship materials science journal that brings together outstanding results from materials science, chemistry, physics, medical and
biosciences, and engineering. Advanced Materials, with an impact factor of more than 15, has been publishing the best results in
materials science for more than a quarter of a century.
